Some fabulous photos of the children in action as they played out their parts in the 'irate pirate' song. Some children chose to rap, sing or just read in character and act out the words, fantastic entertainment for all, what a laugh!! 

ASB Moneywise

Hot on the heels of Pirate day, Orongomai had Amy from ASB's Moneywise programme come and teach our T-groups about how to shop around and use our money wisely. Thanks for the lessons, Amy. I'm sure we will all have a good look around rather than tearing into the first shop we come to and spending all our money! Let's see if we can remember the chant, Kereru and Totara children!

Pirate Day

What a great day we had at Halswell Quarry yesterday. Enthusiastic children ("ohh ARRR!!"),  fun initiatives and fantastic weather. Thank you to all the parents who came down to help and watch our pirate band. Here's a few photos from the day, taken by our sneaky roving photographer without anybody knowing!

Ahoy there pirates

We are off to the Quarry tomorrow, weather permitting. Please come to school dressed ready to go in your pirate gear. Remember your hat, pop on your sunscreen and get your morning tea and shared lunch. If you have an inhaler remember to bring that as well. It will be a great day. Photos will follow.

Week 1

What a wonderful week we have had in Orongomai. We have had loads of fun and look forward to the rest of the new term. Week two we are asking children to bring to school 5 things that will tell a story about themselves. They have the instructions and bag already. Remember items must fit in the bag and they must be left at school. Another wee reminder is for Meet the Teacher evening on Tuesday. Details on School links. Have a wonderful Waitangi Day.
