Fergus's Fire Truck

When I was young I had a massive truck. When I drove it down the hallway I pressed the buttons. 'NEE NAH! NEE NAH!' it went. I liked scaring Mum when it went 'Wee ol wee ol!' My brother's friend came to play. He played with it the whole time while I played with my dump truck. Then he asked if he could borrow my truck. I said "Yes, but bring it back next time." But one day he was doing what I do, driving it. He drove it too far on a windy day and he said "Oh no!" Bang! Bang! and he crushed the front. His dad rang my dad up and they talked about it. My dad told me the whole thing. I felt sad.

T22 Park Detectives

VWhat a fantastic trip to the gardens today! We learnt so much about some of our native birds, their foods and the trees they live in. What a great place our gardens are to visit and learn in!

T24 Park Detective Trip today

What a fantastic morning we had today! Was so lovely to get out of the classroom and see the children immersed in nature and the birdlife around them. We even had a Kereru perched above us in a tree for a while! The children had a range of activities to complete including searching for insects with magnifying glasses and nets, identifying different bird calls and looking closely at different native NZ plants/trees. Would love to get out again soon on another trip like this! Thank you very much for all the help and support from the mother helpers, was great to have you come along with us.

A big thank you to all the parents we had on our trip to the Botanical Gardens. We were so lucky with the weather and the birds. Children and parents alike all did a lot of new learning!!!  Those piwakawaka 's were very cheeky.
