Term 2

Newletter Term 2 2015

Welcome back to Term 2 everyone. We hope you had a great holiday filled with fun, laughter and lots of chocolate.

We have a busy term organised, beginning week 1 with a visit
from Science Alive to complete the Junior Electric programme. Please return your signed form  if you haven't already. Feel free to pop along to have a look or help out, we can always find you a job.

As part of our Active programme we are focussing on being an Achiever. This will be where your child will set their own goals and self assess their progress.  This is to help your child become a self directed learner.
Children will need to produce evidence when they have achieved their goals.
Here is a copy so you can see the Achievers goals.

We also have Dave Martin in this term for Bible in Schools, however if you don't want your child to participate in this programme please let your child's teacher know.

As the cooler weather approaches, we find children have sniffles, therefore, we would like them to bring in a box of tissues. Thank you.

This term we also have mid term learning conferences on 23 June. Please keep an eye out on School Links to make an appointment time.

As part of our Health and PE programme we have Life Education on 12 June.
This term in literacy we are writing instructions, recounts and poetry. We are continuing with our Daily 5 programme. Children should bring home books to read and a new spelling list each week to learn for testing on a Friday. These words are linked to our phonics programme.
In maths we have addition and subtraction, money and geometry. Also have  a look at the basic facts wall on this blog.

Emma Woolford will be absent from the 12-25 May as she is having surgery. We will let you know who the reliever will be when it's all confirmed.

If you are interested in helping out with our Wonderings programme please let us know. We would love to have you in.

We are all looking forward to a wonderful term in Orongomai. Remember if you have any problems, worries or concerns please see your child's teacher.

Kind regards
Sara, Gael, Gabby, Fleur and Emma
